Shopping online for women’s apparel often brings one common headache: deciding between size L and XL. Lots of buyers simply check their weight and pick a size, yet two people with the same weight may fit completely different sizes, due to different body shapes.
Generally speaking, size L (165/88A) is designed for women around 105–118 lbs, with a bust measurement of about 88 cm. Size XL (170/92A) fits those roughly from 118–130 lbs, and its bust is around 92 cm, about 4 cm larger than L. The waist of XL is also about 4 cm bigger than L, while shoulder width and garment length only have minor differences.
However, weight is just a rough reference. If you carry more weight on your hips and belly, you may need XL even at 115 pounds. People with larger frames or more muscle might comfortably wear L even at 125 pounds.
Fabric and clothing style play a big role too. Stretchy knit materials can tolerate more body volume, so you can choose the smaller size. For tight-fitting blouses and dresses, going up one size is safer. Oversized casual pieces usually run large, so you may size down.
The most reliable way is to check the size chart on the product page. Compare your actual bust, waist and hip measurements instead of relying solely on weight. This simple habit avoids returns and ensures your new clothes feel comfortable and look great.
